Privacy Policy

Shaadi Profiles (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Account data — phone number, email address, date of birth, gender.
Profile data — name, photographs, height, religion, community, mother tongue, education, profession, family details, lifestyle preferences.
Partner preferences — age range, height range, preferred religion, cities, education levels, and similar attributes.
Messages — chat messages you send to other users through our platform.
Verification documents — government-issued ID uploaded for identity verification (Aadhaar, passport, driver’s licence).
Payment information — billing details processed securely through our payment provider (Razorpay). We do not store card numbers.

Information we collect automatically

Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, actions taken.
Device data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers.
Log data — server logs including timestamps of requests.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account.
To match you with compatible profiles using our matching algorithm.
To facilitate communication between matched users.
To verify your identity and ensure platform safety.
To send you service-related notifications (match alerts, message notifications, OTPs).
To improve our product through analytics and user research.
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity.
To comply with our legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:

With other users — profile information you make visible, messages you send, interests you express.
With service providers — cloud hosting (AWS), SMS gateway (Twilio), email service, payment processor (Razorpay), each bound by confidentiality obligations.
For legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as required to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and access controls. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data.
Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection — object to certain uses of your data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Shaadi Profiles is not directed at persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your home country, including India and the United States (AWS infrastructure). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any such transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
